The roughly hexagonal shape of the Natural Basalt Column is created when a lava flow begins to cool from the inside. Fissures form and expand. Finally, the lava flow hardens into a honeycomb of columns. This process creates a stone that is completely unique, which we carve into a fountain.

After quarrying this striking material, we highlight the piece by polishing the alternating faces of the stone while leaving the other sides natural. For sculptural appeal, we add horizontal saw cuts at intervals of 6” throughout the form.

Please note that due to the natural weathering of the stone over millions of years, you may experience some minimal spalling or flaking off of small pieces of the natural facets. Our basalt material has some non-structural inclusions that appear as thin white lines in the natural material.

The 39"h size can be paired with the 58" installation kit.

Lift gate service is not available for individual items over 2000 pounds. You will need a way on site to offload the freight truck.
